| About user registration |

| In order to access all functionalities of this forum, please register to become a member. Functions which only registered users may use include: To register, you will need to select a username and password, and provide a valid email address. You can choose to hide your email address in the advanced options to prevent spam. |
| About forum login |
| If you are already a member, please click here to login. If you don't want other people to know that you're online, please use the stealth mode (stealth mode will only be functional if the administrator allows this function to be used). About cookie expiration: when you login, you will be allowed to choose how long the cookie will be stored on your computer. Both your username and password will be stored in the cookie. If you are accessing the forum from a public computer (e.g. in the library, net cafe, or other public places where the computers are shared), it is recommended that you choose the "Session only" option to prevent account theft. |

| If you are a registered member and have forgotten your password, please click here to access the password retrieval script. Please enter the username which you had selected during registration, and your password will be sent to you by email (which is why it is very important to provide a valid email address during user registration). |

| About the member profile information |
| You can modify the contents of your member profile here. For security reasons, you will be asked to enter your password again for verification. You may also change your account password in the control panel. It is highly recommended that you maintain a valid email address on file for communication. The password retrieval script, for example, would require a valid email address. Please note that your username cannot be changed. Should such a need arise, please contact the forum adminstrators. |
| About personalized signatures |
| You can create your own personalized signature during user registration. This signature will appear at the bottom of each of your postings. You may also choose to not display your personalized signature by unchecking the "Use signature" option when posting a new topic or posting a reply. You can also use WindCode to make your personalized signature more interesting and attractive. Please be aware that the maximum allowable length of your personalized signature is dependent on your forum user rank. |
| Custom avatars |
| Your custom avatar will appear under your username on each of your postings. You may select an avatar image from the selection available on the forum. Alternatively, if the corresponding options have been enabled on the forum, you may upload your own avatar image, or provide the absolute URL to the image which you would like to use. |

| This attribute is used as a measurement of a user's contribution in terms of forum promotion. If you invite a friend to join as a member, provide them with a hyperlink in the format of the forum's URL ?a= your numeric user ID. If they decide to register, yourwill increase by 1 unit。E.g.: http://www.phpwind.net/?u=3558 You can check your numeric user ID by navigating to Control Panel -» View my profile. |
| About user ranks and rank promotion |
| PHPWind has a flexible rank promotion scheme. User rank can be determined using the user's overall score. Overall score：The overall score will be calculated using the attribute ratios dictated by the rank promotion scheme. It is recommended that the rank promotion scheme be modified according to the current user attribute statistics to yield reasonable attribute ratios to be used for the overall score computation. Formula for overall score：The sum of each user attribute*its corresponding ratio as determined by the rank promotion scheme. For example, if the rank promotion scheme resembles: Number of posts : 1 RP : 0.5 HP : -1 Other : 0 Then the overall score is calculated as follows： Number of posts*1 + RP*0.5 + HP*(-1) |

| If you see "access denied" or "you do not have permission to enter this forum", it means that due to your current user rank, you have yet to attain the permission to enter that forum. |
| About WindCode |
| You can use WindCode to format your posts, private messages (PM), and personalized signature. Examples of attributes which can be modified using WindCode includes font face type and font color. WindCode makes formatting easier, as users do not need to write the full source code that is used for formatting. |

This function allows you to ask a question and provide a number of response options for respondents to choose from. Results of the poll will be displayed in the very first message of the thread. E.g.：

| About file attachments |
| If the file upload function has been enabled on the forum, you may then upload file attachments to accompany your posts. Images, text documents, or compressed archives may be uploaded. The file size limit for each file format is different (the max. file size limit is 2 MB). The file extensions which the forum script uses are different from those used on your hard drive. In order to open an attached file, you must first of all download the attachment to your computer. Files with the following extensions may be uploaded: gif jpg rar txt zip swf png exe html htm js css java php asp aspx torrent asp php After you have submitted your message, the file attachments will be appended at the end of your message. |
| Editing and deleting your posts |
Registered users may edit and delete their own posts. Click on  to edit your message. Administrators can edit and delete all posts in the forum, moderators can only edit and delete posts on the boards which they are responsible for. |

| Moderators are responsible for overseeing the activities of specific boards of the forum. They have the power to edit, delete, or move any postings on the board which they are responsible for. Usually, it is members who have made special contributions to the forum or members who possess special talents that are appointed as forum moderators, in recognition of their efforts and contributions. |
